A study was conducted at the University of Alabama where 112 students were tested over a nine-month period based on their personality and handshake. Researchers say that “a handshake is a continuous process, one that is more closely linked to the other person. Those who were shaken hands were harder, more knowledgeable, less thoughtful and shy than those who were slightly shaken. ”
3. They look into each other's eyes
Eyes windows to the soul. When you communicate with someone the best way to tell if he or she is paying attention when his or her eyes are wandering. In ancient tantric practices, yogis use what is called "transformation" to look deeper into another's eyes to see their higher, divine qualities.

Carnegie writes, "Remember that a person's name, to that person, sounds the sweetest and most important of any language." The best way to remember a person's name is to repeat it three times when you first meet him.

It is impossible to listen when you think about the answer. In the great world in which we live, people are losing the ability to listen. Sixty percent of our communications are listening and we only maintain twenty-five percent. Talk less, and you'll find yourself hearing more.
7. They talk about how someone would like to be talked about
You may be talking to someone who is shy and quiet or who is loud and friendly. From personal experience, it takes work to learn how to communicate with the presenter if you are an extrovert, and vice versa.
8. They remain optimistic
People like to spend time with those who are hopeful and smiling. We all have our bad days, but when it comes to impressing others, leave your burden at the door. A smile can be found under your nose.
9. They understand body language
Physiology creates mental functioning. As sociologist Amy Cuddy explains in her TED talk, "Your Body Language Shapes Who," our body language affects not only how others see us, but also how we see ourselves.
